Getting paid for your company, in five steps
You choose your days and hours, accept or decline each invitation, and are paid by the hour. Accreditation is free.

Create your account
Name, email, phone and a password. It is free, with no membership fee, now or ever.
You need to be 18 or older and live in Manitoba. Open to anyone, of any gender.

Work through accreditation
Eight steps: your photo, your details, your introduction, what you can do, four documents, two references, your schedule, and a final review.
You can stop partway and come back — whatever you filled in is saved.

Wait for verification
Our team checks your documents, phones both of your references and speaks with you. You will hear back within 3 business days.
If something is missing we tell you exactly what, and you send it again.

Start getting invitations
Once accreditation is approved, your profile goes live. Families looking for what you offer, in the area you cover, send invitations to your portal.
Each invitation shows the activity, day, time, address and what you will be paid — before you answer.

Do the visit, and get paid
You accept the invitation, meet the person and keep them company as arranged. The value of your hours is paid out to you.
The platform service fee is charged to the family — it never comes out of your pay.

What it is — and what it is not
Being clear about the limits is part of the care. That way nobody arrives at a visit expecting one thing and finding another.
What we do
- Company, conversation and real listening
- Walks at the pace of whoever is walking
- Going along to appointments, the bank and the shops
- Cooking together, playing cards, music, dancing
- Teaching a phone, making a video call, looking at photos
- Taking the dog out
What we do not do
- Nursing procedures: injections, wound care, catheters
- Giving or managing medication
- Bathing, incontinence care and personal hygiene
- Physiotherapy, therapeutic exercise or rehabilitation
- Housecleaning or domestic work
- Overnight shifts or 24-hour care

What it costs, with no fine print
You pay by the hour of company. There is no membership fee, no sign-up charge and no lock-in.
Example: a 2 hours walk
The companion receives $50.00 — the full value of the hours. The fee is the platform's, not theirs.
The hourly rate is set by GenBuddies and may vary with experience and area. It is always shown before you confirm anything.
