Company for the person you love, in five steps
No contract, no membership fee and no rush. You choose the activity, the day and the companion — and follow it all from your dashboard.

Choose the activity
A walk, a medical appointment, afternoon coffee, a dance, a church service, the bank, groceries, the hair salon, a phone lesson… 16 kinds of company, and you can describe something else as well.

Pick the day, time and length
Choose a day on the calendar, a time between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., and how long you would like the company for — from an hour to a full day.
You can change it later from your dashboard, without asking anyone.

Tell us the details that matter
The address, whether you need someone who drives, who can cook, who has experience with Alzheimer's or a wheelchair — and a note for the companion to read beforehand.
Every companion has cleared a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check before they are listed at all.

Choose your companion
We show you who is accredited, free that day and able to do what you asked for. You see their introduction, their skills, their rating and what other families have written.
If you would rather, let us suggest the highest-rated one.

Confirm, and follow along
You get a reference code and your companion answers the invitation. From your dashboard you can see the status of every visit, reschedule, cancel, and leave a review afterwards.
Their phone number appears for you as soon as they confirm.

What it is — and what it is not
Being clear about the limits is part of the care. That way nobody arrives at a visit expecting one thing and finding another.
What we do
- Company, conversation and real listening
- Walks at the pace of whoever is walking
- Going along to appointments, the bank and the shops
- Cooking together, playing cards, music, dancing
- Teaching a phone, making a video call, looking at photos
- Taking the dog out
What we do not do
- Nursing procedures: injections, wound care, catheters
- Giving or managing medication
- Bathing, incontinence care and personal hygiene
- Physiotherapy, therapeutic exercise or rehabilitation
- Housecleaning or domestic work
- Overnight shifts or 24-hour care
For health care at home, arrange home care or nursing — in Manitoba, start with your regional health authority. Our team can point you in the right direction if you call.
What it costs, with no fine print
You pay by the hour of company. There is no membership fee, no sign-up charge and no lock-in.
Example: a 2 hours walk
The companion receives $50.00 — the full value of the hours. The fee is the platform's, not theirs.
The hourly rate is set by GenBuddies and may vary with experience and area. It is always shown before you confirm anything.
